This is the first English translation of a rare study of 82 Sufi women by the tenth-century Iranian scholar as-Sulami. A bilingual edition with extensive footnotes and introduction. The appendix includes a translation of a similar study of Sufi women written two hundred years later by Ibn al-Jawzi.
