Overview
Laleh Bakhtiar. This is the story of an American woman who was the first American to marry an Iranian in the United States and move to Iran (1931). She helped set up the first private hospital in Tehran and started the first nursing school there. She returned to America with her seven children and eventually went back to Iran with Truman’s Point 4 program as a public health nurse.
